Should I get spray foam or blown-in insulation for my Newport Beach attic?
For most attics here, sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in insulation is the better buy, because it costs less and does the job once the air leaks are closed. Foam costs more but seals air while it insulates, so it starts to make sense when your ductwork runs through the attic, as it often does in the newer homes up the hill. I'll tell you which one your attic calls for after I've been up there.
